Cookies Policy
The Lisbon School of Nursing (ESEL) website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file with alphanumeric information that is saved by the browser in the local storage of a piece of equipment, from which a user accessed the ESEL website, serving to distinguish the type of access made using the equipment, from other accesses made using other IT equipment.
ESEL uses cookies to improve the browsing performance of users within its website, removing the need to repeatedly enter the same information, thus increasing the speed and efficiency of response, providing a better browsing experience. These cookies help to determine the usefulness, interest and number of uses of our pages, maintaining the user's status during their navigation (such as the language in which the website is displayed).
Cookies also allow for the continuous improvement of the page’s contents, without, however, retaining any personally identified or identifiable data, such as the user's name or address.
Types of Cookies
Cookies can only be stored on a website for the duration of the browsing session (they record user preferences such as language) or to keep user sessions authenticated, and are automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Cookies can be persistent (they record necessary information between sessions, for example to register that the user is aware of the privacy policy). In any case, the cookies remain until the date set for their expiration or when they are deleted by the user.
Purpose of the Cookies used by ESEL
Essential, when they allow the use of the user's applications and access to secure and reserved areas, through the collection of anonymous information that helps to improve the way the website works. We use these cookies, namely, to “remember” the information entered in forms and registration of visits for statistical treatment. The acceptance of these cookies is an optional condition of use with authentication of our website and rejecting cookies prevents access to authenticated content.
Functional, when they help to “remember” the user's preferences regarding navigating the website, therefore the user does not need to reconfigure and customise them each time they visit and use the website. ESEL uses these cookies, namely, to verify that the website has consistent information or, for example, to “remember” the possibility of registering in a form. These type of cookies can be controlled by the user through the internet browser settings, and this restriction may have an impact on the functionalities of the ESEL website.
Analytical, when they collect information about the way the user uses the site, helping to identify the most visited content on the website, thus allowing the content to be geared towards the users' preferences. These cookies do not collect personal data and cannot be changed or retrieved by any service or any other domain. The information obtained through these means, as already mentioned, does not allow any relationship to be established regarding the users' IP address for the purpose of verifying personal data. ESEL uses the Google Analytics services to monitor the usage levels of its websites and you can click here for additional information on the data collection carried out.
