#LanguageMatters Diabetes

Train4Health aims to improve the competencies of future professionals to support behaviour change in persons self-managing chronic disease. The development of our educational products resorts to recommendations on the preferred language to communicate with these persons.

Join us for a chat with Professor Partha Karr and Jazz Sethi, supporters of the global movement #LanguageMatters Diabetes (www.languagemattersdiabetes.com), which seeks to encourage the use of language that promotes positive interactions with people living with diabetes and subsequently positive outcomes.

Partha Karr is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and National Specialty Advisor on Diabetes for NHS England. Partha co-leads the diabetes and endocrinology workstream of the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme, a British NHS Improvement initiative.

Jazz Sethi is the Founder and Director of the Diabesties Foundation (www.d1abesties.com), a not-for-profit Indian organization dedicated to Type 1 Diabetes education, awareness, and advocating for access to affordable healthcare.

This 60-minute webinar you’ll offer you the chance to reflect on the power of words and to get acquainted with resources to make conversations in diabetes care more person-centred, empathetic and non-judgemental.
