Successful Completion of the TRACTION Project

The lead researchers and the CIDNUR are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the TRACTION project (Trials foR heAlth Care inTerventIONs), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at establishing a network for non-pharmacological clinical trials, funded by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA Grants) under the Bilateral Relations Fund (FBR_OC2_33).

A highlight of the TRACTION project was the workshop held in May 2023 at ESEL, featuring renowned international expert speakers and attracting 18 participants. The workshop provided valuable insights and training on conducting non-pharmacological clinical trials, thereby building research capacity among healthcare professionals.

The lectures from this workshop are now freely available on YouTube, with subtitles in English and Portuguese, making this high-value content accessible to a broader audience.

Another significant outcome was the publication of a scientific manuscript in BMJ Open, further disseminating the project internationally.

All the information about the TRACTION project, including resources, updates, and access to educational materials, is available on our project website (www.traction.pt). This platform will continue to serve as a hub for knowledge sharing and collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.

While the initial phase of the TRACTION project has concluded successfully, our work continues. The strong collaborative relationships established between the Nursing School of Lisbon (ESEL) and the Center for Treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases (REMEDY) in Norway will be further strengthened. We envision ongoing partnerships and future projects that will enhance the reach and impact of the TRACTION network across Europe and beyond.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, partners, and supporters of the TRACTION project. Your contributions have been invaluable in achieving our goals and laying the foundation for continued success.
